Review the item in the generated workbook

  1. Open the Year-End workbook and select 🏦 BANK TRANSACTIONS.
  2. Find rows whose Category is taxPaymentReview.
  3. Determine what each payment or refund actually represents.
  4. If it is an ordinary business or home expense, change its Category in that worksheet row to the appropriate existing category. The 🏦 BANK SUMMARY totals recalculate automatically.
  5. If the same transaction also exists as a receipt expense, correct its category in Review expenses and regenerate the Year-End report so future reports use the corrected source data.

Do not force an income-tax payment, franchise-tax payment, or government refund into a deduction category just to remove the warning. Their treatment can depend on the tax type, business structure, filing jurisdiction, and what the payment or refund relates to. Use tax software or ask a qualified tax professional to place any appropriate amount on the final return.

Changes made in 🏦 BANK TRANSACTIONS apply to that generated workbook only; they do not update ExpenseBot's master records and may be replaced when the report is regenerated.

This is different from Set aside for tax review in Review expenses. That control is for a receipt purchase that may need capitalization or another non-current treatment. Government payments under Needs Tax Review are created automatically because the bank evidence is ambiguous.

ExpenseBot organizes the evidence and deliberately abstains when an automatic deduction would be unsafe. It does not determine the final tax treatment.
