🧭 Getting a receipt directly from Apple (checked against Apple Support on 2026-09-14; Apple renames menus, so defer to Apple's current page if a label differs)
- App Store, subscriptions, iCloud+ — Purchase History: on iPhone or iPad, open the App Store, tap your photo or initials (or the My Account button), then Apps & Purchase History → Purchase History. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Apps & Purchase History → Purchase History. On the web, sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com. The list opens on the last 90 days; change that filter to see older purchases.
- Apple Store online orders: Apple creates an invoice once the item ships or is picked up — open the order from the order list on apple.com and choose View Invoice. In-store purchases: the receipt emailed at checkout; for a lost receipt or invoice, contact Apple (1-800-MY-APPLE in the US).
- AppleCare+: mysupport.apple.com → choose the device → View Proof of Coverage (agreement number or proof of coverage). On iPhone or iPad: Settings → General → AppleCare & Warranty. Keep the receipt or invoice for the purchase that included the plan as the record of what was paid.
- Everything at once: privacy.apple.com → Request a copy of your data includes a record of App Store, iTunes Store and Apple Books purchases and downloads. It is a data file, not a set of receipts — the itemized receipts are the emails Apple sent.
- Family Sharing: the family organizer pays for everyone's purchases unless Purchase Sharing is off or another adult uses their own payment method, and can see family members' purchases in Purchase History — look on the organizer's account first.

📦 When one Apple receipt covers several purchases
Apple often combines purchases made close together into a single receipt under one charge. ExpenseBot writes that receipt as one row at the amount you were charged, and captures the individual item names in the sheet's Notes column (for example, Description: Final Cut Pro; iCloud+ 2TB; Wordscapes). One row per charge is what reconciles cleanly against the single APPLE.COM/BILL line on your card statement, while the item names stay available for deciding what was business.
✂️ Splitting a bundled Apple charge across business and personal
If one charge mixes business and personal items, split the row — don't retype it as separate rows and don't delete the original. Open Review expenses from your dashboard, find the row, and choose Split this expense. You can divide the charge by amount or by percentage, and mark each allocation business or personal, with its own category on the business allocations. The allocations must add up to the full charge, so nothing goes missing, and the row still matches the single statement charge. Reports you have already generated stay unchanged — a split applies to future reports.
🔁 Forgotten Apple subscriptions
Once Apple receipts are in the sheet, the Subscription Auditor (in the reports list on your dashboard, available on every account; promoted into the Insights section of My Reports once a run finds two or more recurring charges) flags charges recurring monthly or annually, price increases on established subscriptions, functional duplicates, and trials that converted to paid — over roughly the last thirteen months of captured history. Common Apple culprits: iCloud+ storage, Apple One overlapping a service paid for elsewhere, and app subscriptions that renewed after a trial.

Scans are retroactive — they read receipt emails already in the mailbox rather than only watching for new mail — and they run one completed year at a time. A free account reaches back 60 days. 💡 Deductibility: an Apple purchase is deductible to the extent it is used for business — the test is the business-use share.
