ExpenseBot

Why did ExpenseBot mark my tag inactive?

ExpenseBot may mark a tag inactive when it is at least 90 days old and no expense has used it during the last 90 days. This keeps tag pickers from filling up with choices you no longer use.

Inactive does not mean deleted. Existing expense rows and reports keep the tag, and you can restore it from Settings > Expense Organization > Expense Tags > Manage tags. Newly created tags receive a full 90-day grace period.

Business, Personal, and Invoices are never automatically deactivated. ExpenseBot also leaves a tag active whenever its age, usage history, or identity cannot be verified safely.

This is separate from the optional cleanup offered when you turn off a use case. That cleanup always asks before removing never-used setup tags.
