For credit card reconciliation, upload your statement as a PDF, or in a transaction-level format: CSV, OFX, QFX, MT940, or CAMT. Most cards offer a CSV download from their online portal under Statements or Transaction History; many US banks also offer OFX/QFX.
⚠️ The AMEX "Year-End Summary" PDF won't work. That document shows spending by category (Airlines: $X, Restaurants: $Y) with no individual transactions, so there's nothing to reconcile against. Instead go to amex.com → Statements & Activity → Download → choose "Spreadsheet", pick any date range — you can grab all 12 months in one download — and upload that CSV. It includes every individual transaction.
Monthly CSVs also work — just upload one per month.
A monthly statement PDF works too — it's read and extracted for reconciliation automatically. The one PDF that can't be used is the AMEX Year-End Summary described above, because it lists category totals with no individual transactions to match against.
