Uber (a single ride):
- App: menu → Your Trips → select the trip → Receipt (under the amount paid).
- Web: riders.uber.com/trips → My Trips → the trip → View Receipt (print, resend or download a PDF) or Resend Receipt.
- Email: Uber automatically emails a receipt to the address on the account when each trip ends.
Many Uber trips at once: Uber's rider help pages describe receipts one trip at a time; there is no documented bulk download for personal accounts. On Uber for Business, an admin at business.uber.com can download or email individual receipts from the Activity tab, or build a CSV in the Reports tab that includes the Receipt PDF column.
Receipt email never arrived: check spam or junk and mark Uber as not junk; check the email address on the account; a ride on a business profile sends its receipt to the work email on that profile; a ride booked by someone else sends the receipt to their account email. Any receipt can be resent from riders.uber.com/trips.
Uber Eats: app → Account icon → Orders → Past Orders → the order → View receipt. A receipt is also emailed to the account address after the order.
Lyft: app menu → Ride history → tap the ride. Lyft emails a receipt after the ride's payment is processed, and Ride history goes back to October 2014. For several rides: Ride history → Export (top right on iPhone, download icon on Android) → choose rides → Send report, and Lyft emails a ride report with the receipts.
What counts as the receipt
Keep the per-trip receipt, not recap emails (monthly or yearly ride summaries) or trip summaries that say they are not a payment receipt. A ride receipt usually shows the date, amount paid, payment method and route; the business purpose is added by the user. In the US, IRS Publication 463 says documentary evidence must show amount, date, place and essential character. In Canada, CRA's Keeping records guidance says records and supporting documents are generally kept six years from the end of the last tax year they relate to. Estimates — confirm with your tax professional.
Collecting them automatically
ExpenseBot reads Uber, Uber Eats and Lyft receipt emails from the Gmail inbox the user connects and writes each one into a Google Sheet in the user's own Drive, both as new receipts arrive and retroactively within the plan's scan window (a rolling 60-day window without a subscription, the current calendar year with one, and completed prior years as one-time unlocks scanned one year at a time). Recap emails are skipped. It does not sign in to Uber or Lyft and cannot find a receipt that was never emailed to a connected inbox — if a business profile sends receipts to a work address, connect that inbox (a subscription connects up to three Gmail accounts). Gmail and Google Workspace only.
