Does editing expenses in Google Sheets (recategorizing, changing tags, etc.) affect my reports?

Safe to change anytime:Category — Use the dropdown to pick a different category • Tag — Use the dropdown to pick a different tag • Totals/amounts — Edit the dollar amount directly • Any other field — Vendor, date, notes, etc.

Reports are generated as a separate snapshot. Edits to the main expense sheet won't alter previously created reports.

💡 Adding new categories or tags: If the category or tag you want isn't in the dropdown, you have two options:

  1. In the ExpenseBot interface — Go to Settings > Category or Settings > Tag and add it there
  2. Shortcut in the spreadsheet — Go to the Categories or Tags tab in your spreadsheet and add it following the same format as the existing entries

Once added, the new option will appear in the dropdown for future use.
