The tax headings in your master expense sheet use your account country to make the existing tax buckets easier to recognize.
For example:
- Canada: City / local tax; Provincial / state tax (HST/PST/QST/RST); Federal tax (GST/HST/VAT).
- United States: City / local tax; State tax (sales tax); Federal / national tax.
- India: City / local tax; State / territory tax (SGST/UTGST); Federal / national tax (CGST/IGST/GST).
- Other supported countries may show GST or VAT examples. Otherwise, the headings use general local, state/provincial and federal/national wording.
New sheets get the headings automatically. On existing sheets, the daily sheet check can update exact older default headings when the columns are correctly aligned. Custom headings and accepted tax abbreviations are preserved. It does not replace every existing heading just because you change your account country.
Only the labels change. This does not move tax amounts between columns, recalculate taxes or decide whether you can claim a tax credit or deduction. The examples reflect your account country, not necessarily the country of every receipt. Foreign receipts and previously saved tax allocations keep their existing values and buckets; HST, for example, can appear in more than one saved bucket depending on the source.
These headings apply to the master expense sheet. Generated reports retain their own tax presentation. Review the underlying receipt and the relevant report details when assessing a tax amount; a heading alone does not establish tax eligibility.
