Can ExpenseBot track my expenses across Etsy, Amazon, Shopify and other marketplaces?

Yes. ExpenseBot's ecommerce seller expense tracker captures the costs of selling online from your Gmail into one categorized Google Sheet you own — no matter which platform each expense came from.

The problem it solves

When you sell online, money leaves in ten places and none of it reconciles to a single ledger:

  • Platform, listing and transaction fees
  • Payment-processing fees (Etsy Payments, Shopify Payments, PayPal, Stripe)
  • Cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory
  • Shipping, postage and packaging
  • Ad spend (Etsy Ads, Amazon Sponsored Products, Meta, Google)
  • Software subscriptions and app fees
  • Returns, refunds and business mileage

Each marketplace reports differently, so at tax time — or when a surprise 1099-K arrives — you're staring at a gross payout number far bigger than what you actually kept.

How it works

Connect your Gmail once and ExpenseBot reads receipts, order and fee statements, supplier invoices and ad-spend emails, extracts vendor/date/amount, and writes each to a Google Sheet in your own Drive. It labels what it reads so nothing is double-counted, never sends email, and never deletes anything. Paper supplier receipts and PDF invoices can be photographed or forwarded. AI categorization sorts everything into fees, shipping, COGS, ads and software so the ledger is tax-ready.

Gross payout vs. taxable profit

The single most useful thing to understand: the 1099-K reports your gross payouts, before the platform took its cut. You subtract platform and payment fees, refunds, shipping and COGS to get taxable profit — the number you actually pay tax on. Those deductions only hold up if you kept the receipts, which is exactly what capturing them protects. (Educational only — confirm thresholds and deductions with a tax professional; the current 1099-K threshold is on the IRS Form 1099-K page.)

ExpenseBot is spend capture that feeds your accounting — the Google Sheet it builds can go to your accountant or import into QuickBooks Online or Xero. It is not a full accounting suite.
