Open Settings → Email Preferences to control optional email categories:
- Deadline reminders — tax deadlines, annual preparation, and other time-sensitive reminders
- Feature tips and updates — setup guidance, useful features, founder check-ins, and occasional product news
- Account and service emails — security, billing, service alerts, scan and upload results, and scheduled reports; these stay on because they confirm activity or protect your account
Optional emails also include a Stop emails like this link and a Manage email preferences link. Supported inboxes can show a native one-click unsubscribe action as well.
These preferences do not change your automation schedule. Gmail scanning is managed in Settings → Automation Hub, and scheduled report frequency is set on each report card there.
Getting an email after most daily Gmail scans? That one is not controlled here. In the Automation Hub's Gmail Scanner card, set Scan result emails to Weekly digest and routine successes are combined into one Monday email (your Gmail is still scanned daily — only the notification changes; problems and scans you request still email immediately). Steps: one weekly email instead of daily.
ExpenseBot does not send an empty daily automation summary when the Gmail scan finds nothing new or actionable. A completion email after a manual or historical scan is different: it confirms the scan you requested.
If you reply to an ExpenseBot message asking to unsubscribe, both optional categories are turned off. You can later re-enable either category in Email Preferences.
