ExpenseBot scans whichever Gmail account you signed up / logged in with — that's not always the one you actually want scanned (e.g. you signed in with a personal login email, but all your receipts live in a separate business inbox). You have three options, depending on what you want:
Want to scan a different email instead?
Sign up or log in with that Gmail account directly — expensebot.ai treats each Gmail address as its own separate account, so logging in with your business Gmail creates a fresh ExpenseBot account scanning that inbox. It does not merge with or replace your existing account.
If you actually want both inboxes scanned together under one account, that's a different feature — connecting a second Gmail account to your existing login. See multiple Gmail accounts for that flow instead of creating a separate login.
Want to stop scanning this account, but keep using ExpenseBot?
Turn off automatic scanning without losing your data or subscription:
- Go to Scan Gmail for Receipts — there's a banner at the top you can toggle off, or
- Go to Settings → Automation Hub and disable the Gmail Agent there
This stops the nightly scan on this account. Any existing receipts and your spreadsheet stay untouched.
Don't need this account at all?
If you connected the wrong Gmail and won't be using this account, reset it: Settings → Reset (scroll to the bottom). Resetting deletes the spreadsheet, removes ExpenseBot's Gmail labels, and turns off automation — it does not touch your actual emails. See reset your account for the full picture of what reset does and doesn't do.
In short: wrong-email-for-signup → sign up with the right one instead. Right account, just don't want auto-scan → toggle it off in Automation Hub. Don't need the account at all → reset it.
